About the club

America Football Club is a Brazilian social and sports association, headquartered in the city of Rio de Janeiro, capital of the state of Rio de Janeiro. Founded on September 18, 1904, its name has no accent, since it is spelled in English. Among the most important achievements, the Tournament of Champions was won in 1982, a tournament organized by CBF which had the largest clubs in Brazil, in addition to the 7 titles of the Carioca Championship.
