Nilton dos Santos was one of the greatest right-backs in football history. He has often been called "The Encyclopedia" because of his knowledge of the sport and his completeness as a player, being a pioneer in supporting the attack through the side of the field. In his entire career, Nilton played exclusively for Botafogo, and, in addition to Glorioso, the only shirt he used was the Brazilian team's.
