The Corinthians mascot emerged after the friendly dispute made by the club on May 1, 1929, when the team won a comeback against the team of Barracas from Argentina. The day after the game in the newspaper Gazeta Esportiva, journalist Thomaz Mazzoni, when reporting the match, highlighted the "mosqueteiro fiber" in reference to the authors of the goals and to the book by Alexandre Dumas "The Three Musketeers". Timão's fighting spirit and bravery, which are always very present, made the Musketeer become the club's official mascot.
