About Zito player

José Ely de Miranda, better known as Zito, was a Brazilian soccer player. He started his career at Esporte Clube Taubaté, acting in the defensive midfielder position. In 1952 he was hired by Santos where he played until his retirement. Nicknamed "Gerente", he was the leader of the team on the pitch and his screams became remarkable, encouraging players to continue scoring goals, even with the matches already decided. He served in the team for fifteen years, between 1952 and 1967, having played 733 matches and scored 57 goals.
