About Ajax

Year 1973, Amsterdam: No doubt the golden age of the biggest Dutch team was in the early 1970s. The Ajax team had great players from the new Dutch school, such as Johan Cruyff, Piet Keizer, Sjaak Swart and Johan Neeskens. In 1971, 1972 and 1973 Ajax was European champion, in 1972 they were World Champion against Independents and Ajax players were the most important in the Dutch team, which showed a high level football at the 1974 World Championships in Germany. What was known as the 'Mechanical Orange' really was largely the Ajax of the 1970s.
