On November 26, 1915, Vasco da Gama decided to merge with Luzitânia SC, dedicated to soccer and that, until then, only admitted portuguese people in the team. According to a study by Pluri Stochos Pesquisas e Licenciamento Esportivo in 2013, Vasco da Gama has the fourth largest crowd of Brazil, with 5% of the interviewed.
