About Madureira Esporte Clube

Madureira Esporte Clube is a Brazilian sports association, headquartered in Rio de Janeiro and founded on August 8, 1914 by merchants in the neighborhood of Madureira. It is one of the most traditional teams in Rio de Janeiro. In 1936, the Madureira team was runner-up statewide for the first time. Until 2010, it is the eighth club with more participations in the Carioca Championship, 64 in total.
